Honeysuckle - The Color of the Year
I'm tickled pink that Pantone has chosen Honeysuckle as the 2011 Color of the Year. Admittedly I have never considered myself a "pink person", but now that I am surrounded by boys, I have found a new admiration for it. Of course there are hues that scream femininity, but there are so many other sides to pink. Here's a few of my color palette inspirations -
Island Mix
Mix an intense pink with a sunny orange, laid-back lavender, and a tropical teal for an island look. You'll feel like you're on vacation.
Sophisticated Mix
Add a rich chocolate brown, a pale silvery grey and a dash of pale turquoise to a shy pink and you've got a palette of sophistication.
Summer Fun Mix
Warm pink mixed with the colors of summer - green, blue, and yellow. For a mellow look keep all the tones light and similar. To kick things up a notch, go a little darker overall or choose your favorite and make it intense.
Blushing Mix
Toned-down pinks mixed with grey and a sweet sea-green, this mix is sweet and serene.

Autumn Mix
Pink is not just for spring anymore. Mix with with a warm brown, a yellow-toned neutral and an intense teal for a color combination that carries pink into the cooler seasons.

Glamour Mix
Pink shimmers when mixed with a dark reddish brown, intense blue-violet, and golden tones. Spice up a room - or yourself - with this mix.
