I am thrilled to announce that “Happy” has been accepted in to the 54th Annual Gadsden Art Association Juried Art Show. The opening reception will he held Sunday, July 15, 2012 from 2-4pm. The exhibit will run from July 15 through August 31 and admission is free. “Happy” is an 8″x8″ mixed media work created with acrylic paint, ink, and laser print transfer. The laser print transfer is a fun process where I draw something on the computer, in this case in Adobe Illustrator, print it out on my laser printer, and the use acrylic gel medium to transfer the print to the painting.

The Gadsden Museum of Art features works of Southern art and artists and houses an extensive permanent collection of paintings, sculptures, and prints. In addition, the museum hosts a series of changing exhibits featuring the works of local and regional artists. They are located at 515 Broad St, Gadsden, AL.
